harley weir's limited edition photography zine

Photographer Harley Weir’s photo stories of the five inspirational creative women featured in each film will be published as a limited edition photography zine that will be freely distributed at select locations in London, Paris, LA and Tokyo.

An intimate body of work, the zine forms a scrapbook of the five cities Harley travelled to across the world to shoot each woman. Starting in Paris, Harley meets the French-Moroccan actress Oulaya Amamra who trained as a boxer to prepare for a role in her latest film, Divines. The lens is next turned on photographer Momo Okabe, whose photobooks document her former lover's transition from female to male in Tokyo. 17-year-old performance poet Zariya Allen, who writes with a wisdom beyond her years about love, lust and teenage desire, is documented in Los Angeles. Dancer Manthe Ribane who returns to the streets of Soweto in Johannesburg from where she came to inspire a new generation to chase their dreams. And finally in Berlin, Harley encounters deaf artist Christine Sun Kim who challenges us to think of sound in an entirely different way and see the world from her extraordinary perspective.

Inspired by the intense, complex, sensual and strong femininity associated with CHANEL Nº5 fragrance, these series of still images provide an in-depth look into the rich cultures and lives of these five women, shot with Harley’s trademark evocative intimacy.
