Born and raised in Taiwan, Yuyi John is the digital artist whose childlike imagination sees her making art with no limits; think instant noodles accessories and USB shoelaces and you get the picture. Although she studied fashion design and upon graduating spent time in New York to apply herself to highly sought after fashion roles, Yuyi decided to follow her own natural energies which led her to focus on her true passion of creating whimsical designs. Her virtually led art unsurprisingly takes inspiration from social media, with a recent project seeing her imprinting a series of Twitter, Facebook and Instagram themed images onto faces. Everyday objects such as food, technology and the versatile canvas of the human body are transformed into confounding works of art, each conveying both the workings of Yuyi's mind and her underlying message: there are no rules. Don't care about what people say. Don't be afraid of bullies and be nice. You will soon be free to be yourself. Don't hate yourself for not getting into the high school you wanted, you'll eventually be admitted to Shih Chien University and the days there will be some of the best days of your life!
