M.I.A.’s Meltdown

The 24th Meltdown music festival is curated by the Sri Lankan-born rapper, producer, director, visual artist and activist M.I.A and features musicians including Princess Nokia, Tommy Genesis, JD Samson and Young M.A.

Ayobami Adebayo: Stay with Me

Spike Island, Bristol. June 9. Tickets from £5. 

Writer Ayobami Adebayo reads from her latest novel Stay With Me, shortlisted for the Baileys Women’s Prize for Fiction, and follows with a talk about the book and its themes including motherhood and marriage.

Aleksandra Domanovic: Votives

Votives is a series of  new sculptures made in the tradition of Greek Korai (sculptural dedications of female figures that hold offerings) by artist Aleksandra Domanovic.

Tess Jaray: Into Light, in collaboration with Karsten Schubert

Marlborough Fine Arts, London. Currently on until June 17. Free

This exhibition features new and early works by British painter Tess Jaray including large-scale paintings on the theme of Aleppo, a series of small works from recent years, as well as drawings from throughout her career spanning over five decades.

Maria Brozozwska: The Illustrator

The first solo exhibition of illustrator and visual story teller Maria Brozozwska includes a selection of works realistic and fantasy based images.

Barbara Brown

The first major solo exhibition of the acclaimed textile designer Barbara Brown, known for her striking and unusual designs, includes a selection of her work from the 60s to the present day.
